Job Description: As a Traffic Analysis Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing traffic patterns, designing transportation solutions, and optimizing traffic flow within Colorado's diverse urban and rural environments. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive traffic studies, forecast future traffic demands, and implement data-driven strategies to improve mobility and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct traffic impact studies for proposed developments, transportation projects, and infrastructure improvements.
- Analyze traffic data using industry-standard software and methodologies, such as VISSIM, Synchro, and CORSIM.
- Model traffic flow, congestion levels, and travel demand to assess the effectiveness of existing infrastructure and proposed changes.
- Evaluate intersections, roadways, and transit systems to identify operational deficiencies and recommend enhancements.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with transportation planners, engineers, and public officials to integrate transportation solutions into broader urban and regional planning efforts.
- Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in traffic engineering and transportation planning.
- Support business development activities by participating in proposal preparation, client meetings, and professional networking events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Colorado, or the ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire.
- 2+ years of experience in traffic analysis, transportation engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with traffic engineering software packages, such as VISSIM, Synchro, and/or CORSIM.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex traffic data and models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation regulations and guidelines.
