Job Summary: As a Junior Transmission Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning and optimization of our transmission infrastructure. Working closely with senior engineers, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of transmission systems that meet the operational and reliability requirements of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and design of transmission systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Conduct power flow studies and analyze system performance to optimize transmission network efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather technical requirements and provide input into project planning.
- Support the development of transmission expansion plans and evaluate the impact on overall system reliability.
- Utilize software tools and simulation models to assess system behavior and propose improvements.
- Participate in field inspections and data collection activities to assess the condition of existing transmission assets.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to transmission planning activities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting transmission planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of power systems, transmission planning, and grid operations.
- Familiarity with power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, or similar.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities within a team environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
