Position Overview: A Video Engineer in Live Events is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of video equipment used in live events such as concerts, conferences, sports events, and other large gatherings. This role ensures high-quality video production and smooth broadcast operations, contributing to an engaging visual experience for attendees and viewers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and test video equipment including cameras, projectors, video switchers, LED screens, and video servers.
- Ensure all video equipment is configured correctly and is operational before the event.
- Operate video systems during live events, managing video feeds, switching sources, and ensuring seamless transitions.
- Monitor video quality and troubleshoot any issues in real-time to minimize disruptions.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of video equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide technical support to other crew members and resolve any video-related problems promptly.
- Collaborate with directors, producers, and other technical staff to align on the video requirements and execution plan.
- Communicate effectively with the event team to ensure all video elements meet the event's objectives and standards.
- Dismantle and pack video equipment safely after the event.
- Evaluate the event's video performance and provide feedback for future improvements.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Video Production, Broadcasting, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in live event video production or a similar role.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting various video equipment and software.
- Strong understanding of video signal flow, formats, and resolutions.
- Knowledge of live streaming technologies and video compression standards.
