Job Title: Water/Wastewater Engineering Manager

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineering Manager with 8-10+ years of experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our team across multiple offices in Iowa. This role requires a strong technical background in water and wastewater engineering, with 80% of the focus on technical responsibilities and 20% on business development.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership (80%):
- Lead and manage water and wastewater engineering projects from planning through execution.
- Develop detailed project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Perform technical reviews and approvals of engineering designs, specifications, and plans.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
- Design and oversee the implementation of water and wastewater treatment systems, stormwater management, and related infrastructure.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in water/wastewater engineering and incorporate best practices into projects.
Business Development (20%):
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the water and wastewater sector.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and bids for new projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and industry networking events.
- Contribute to the strategic growth and development of the water/wastewater department.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field required.
- Master's degree or additional certifications preferred.
Licensure:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Experience:
- 8-10+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering complex technical projects.
Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, systems, and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM).
- Excellent project management skills with proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Effective leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with clients and stakeholders effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
