Junior Estimator - Commercial Construction - Dallas
A respected and growing commercial general contractor is seeking a Junior Estimator to support its preconstruction and estimating team across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with quantity take‑offs, cost estimating, and bid preparation
- Support senior estimators during preconstruction and budgeting phases
- Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents for accuracy and completeness
- Solicit, track, and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Help evaluate bids and participate in scope leveling and comparisons
- Maintain organized estimating files, cost databases, and historical project data
- Collaborate with project management teams to support accurate project handoffs
Experience Needed
- 1-5 years of experience in construction estimating or preconstruction
- Exposure to commercial construction projects (ground‑up, renovations, or interior build‑outs)
- Internship or field experience with a general contractor or subcontractor preferred
- Familiarity with basic construction means, methods, and materials
- Experience assisting with take‑offs or bid preparation is a plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with estimating software and Excel is preferred
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
