About the Role

We are seeking a mid-level Controls Service Technician (3+ years' experience) to join a specialist HVAC controls contractor based in Greater Boston. This is a growth hire within an established and expanding business that prioritizes training, support, and long-term career development.

The role is primarily service-focused, with exposure to preventative maintenance and small project work across Niagara-based building automation systems in commercial buildings and critical environments. You will gain hands-on experience working directly with real systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting ongoing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform service, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on HVAC controls and BAS systems
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and system health checks
  • Support small works, upgrades, and modifications alongside senior engineers
  • Diagnose faults across sensors, controllers, networks, and field devices
  • Work with Niagara-based Building Automation systems in commercial and critical environments
  • Produce clear service reports and communicate findings to clients and internal teams
  • Build familiarity with customer sites and systems over time
  • Participate in a low-frequency on-call rotation

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in HVAC controls or Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Background in service, maintenance, or support of BAS/BMS environments
  • Practical understanding of HVAC equipment and control sequences
  • Exposure to Niagara frameworks (training or field experience)
  • Ability to work independently on-site with support when required
  • Valid authorization to work in the United States

Preferred

  • Experience supporting small controls projects or system modifications
  • Familiarity with field devices, control panels, and system components
  • Basic understanding of networking or communication protocols in BAS environments
  • Interest in progressing into a senior technical or project-focused role
