Position Overview
This firm is seeking a Project Manager with a focus on building structural engineering to join their team in downtown St. Louis. This role is ideal for a structural engineer who thrives on client interaction, enjoys managing diverse building projects, and is ready to take ownership of work ranging from small renovations to multimillion-dollar new construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering projects from initial concept through final construction
- Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and clients to deliver integrated, code-compliant design solutions
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables while ensuring high-quality outcomes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and repeat business
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development and technical excellence
- Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and industry standards
- Support business development efforts through proposal preparation and client engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on buildings
- Strong knowledge of structural systems including steel, concrete, and masonry
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and structural design software (RAM, RISA, Revit)
- Familiarity with building codes such as IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $85,000-$140,000, commensurate with experience
