About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join a reputable heavy civil contractor in Winchester, VA. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for projects including excavation, site work, stormwater systems, water, and sewer installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs for excavation, site work, stormwater, water, and sewer projects.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to prepare competitive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate proposals.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and competitiveness.
- Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in civil construction estimating (heavy civil preferred).
- Strong background in excavation, site work, stormwater, water, and sewer projects.
- Proficiency with estimating software
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
