DDC Programmer - Building Automation Systems
Location: Dallas, TX
Salary: Up to $120,000 annually (based on experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced DDC Programmer to join our Dallas-based team, specializing in Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems for mission-critical environments such as data centers, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Line programming and a strong understanding of HVAC control systems, building automation protocols, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and deploy DDC control programs using Line programming for HVAC, lighting, and environmental systems.
- Configure and integrate controllers, sensors, actuators, and field devices into building automation systems.
- Collaborate with project engineers and technicians to ensure proper system design and implementation.
- Perform system commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of control sequences.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including control drawings, logic diagrams, and programming files.
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards, local building codes, and client specifications.
- Provide on-site and remote support for system maintenance and upgrades.
- Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in DDC programming, with proven expertise in Line programming.
- Familiarity with Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks), and control theory.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel locally for site visits and commissioning.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in data center or critical facility environments.
- Knowledge of energy management systems and fault detection diagnostics.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices for building automation systems.
- Certifications such as Niagara AX/N4, LEED, or BAS Technician are a plus.
