About the Opportunity
A growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join its Land Development team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of projects while working alongside experienced engineers, planners, surveyors, and design professionals.
The successful candidate will support projects from initial feasibility and conceptual planning through permitting, approvals, and construction. You'll gain exposure to a broad mix of development projects while building the technical and project management skills needed for long-term career growth.

Position Overview
As a Civil Design Engineer, you will play an integral role in project delivery, supporting engineering design, permitting, technical analysis, and coordination efforts across multiple project types.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and gain valuable experience navigating development approvals, infrastructure design, and regulatory processes.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Design
- Assist with site planning and civil engineering design.
- Prepare site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, and stormwater management systems.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and earthwork analyses.
- Develop conceptual and detailed engineering designs.
- Support the preparation of construction plans and technical documentation.
Permitting & Approvals
- Assist with the preparation of permit applications and supporting reports.
- Review local development regulations and zoning requirements.
- Coordinate project submissions with regulatory agencies and municipalities.
- Support the entitlement and development approval process.
Technical Development
- Develop proficiency with industry-leading engineering and design software.
- Assist in preparing technical reports, calculations, exhibits, and presentations.
- Support senior engineers with project research and data analysis.
- Explore emerging technologies and innovative approaches to project delivery.
Team Collaboration
- Work alongside engineers, planners, surveyors, and other project stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings and internal design reviews.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on professional growth and technical excellence.
- Support mentoring and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Strong interest in land development, site design, and civil engineering.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward licensure.
- Internship or professional experience in land development or site civil engineering.
- Exposure to engineering design software.
- Familiarity with site design, grading, drainage, and utility infrastructure concepts.
Technical Skills
- AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software.
- Site layout and grading design.
- Stormwater management concepts.
- Utility and infrastructure design.
- Engineering calculations and technical documentation.
