Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Federal Construction Project Manager to oversee building construction projects on U.S. military installations nationwide. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle management of construction projects, ensuring adherence to federal regulations, contract requirements, safety standards, and client expectations.
This position requires extensive travel on a 3-week rotation, supporting active project sites with a per diem package provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage federal construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, with a focus on military base facilities.
- Coordinate with government stakeholders (USACE, NAVFAC, or other federal agencies), subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, including safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts; track and report progress against milestones.
- Manage contract administration, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and claims.
- Conduct site visits and oversee field operations to ensure work is executed according to plans and specifications.
- Identify project risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead project meetings, provide status reports, and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Enforce strict adherence to OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols.
- Support procurement and subcontractor management activities.
Travel Requirements
- Must be willing and able to travel on a 3-week on / rotation-based schedule to job sites across the U.S.
- Travel includes extended stays on or near military installations.
- Per diem, lodging, and travel expenses are provided in accordance with company policy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience managing federal construction projects, preferably on military installations.
- Strong knowledge of federal contracting processes and agencies such as USACE (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) and/or NAVFAC (Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command).
- Experience managing vertical construction projects (e.g., barracks, administrative buildings, infrastructure).
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to U.S. military installations (background check required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Active or prior security clearance (Secret or higher).
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or LEED.
- Experience working in remote or high-security environments.
