Job Title: Principal Engineer - Water/Wastewater

Location: Los Angeles, CA

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Engineer to lead complex wastewater and reuse infrastructure projects across Southern California. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging and meaningful projects that directly impact community health and environmental sustainability. You'll be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team that values innovation, mentorship, and long-term client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and lead engineering work on large-scale wastewater and reuse projects.
  • Oversee preliminary and detailed design, as well as engineering services during construction.
  • Develop hydraulic calculations, evaluate treatment processes, and manage interdisciplinary design reviews.
  • Serve as a project manager on mid- to large-sized projects, with full responsibility for budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Lead proposal development and contribute to strategic project pursuits.
  • Represent the firm in professional associations through technical presentations and committee involvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in wastewater and reuse design, with a focus on treatment plant design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Familiarity with wastewater master planning, conveyance, and treatment systems.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting engineering.
  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience with membrane bioreactor (MBR) and advanced treatment facilities.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD.
  • Experience managing project financials, schedules, and quality systems.
