Senior Project Manager - Water & Wastewater

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through construction. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical expertise, project management, and client engagement.

You'll work on a variety of systems such as treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, and rehabilitation efforts-helping communities maintain and improve critical infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from initiation through completion, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and contract coordination
  • Manage project performance to meet cost, schedule, and quality expectations
  • Coordinate internal teams, subconsultants, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
  • Delegate and oversee work performed by engineers and technical staff, providing guidance as needed
  • Prepare, review, and contribute to engineering designs, reports, and technical documents
  • Apply quality control processes to ensure accurate and reliable deliverables
  • Support bidding and contractor selection, and provide oversight during construction
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Address contractor questions, issue clarifications, and manage changes such as change orders
  • Support project financial tracking, including invoicing and budget monitoring
  • Contribute to proposals, presentations, and client relationship development efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
  • 10-15+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects across planning, design, and construction phases
  • Background in treatment systems, pipelines, pump stations, or system improvements
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage client relationships and contribute to business development
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget

Licenses & Certifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Colorado or ability to obtain)
  • Valid driver's license for project-related travel

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 annually

Compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
