With a strong backlog of complex projects, they're seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large teams and oversee the delivery of technically demanding mechanical systems, including EPA-regulated systems, advanced cooling infrastructure, and critical HVAC and piping systems.
Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading large-scale mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role requires deep technical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and experience managing complex systems in healthcare/hospital, manufacturing plants, data centers, or other mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will be based in or around Kansas City and comfortable managing regional travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of mechanical construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Oversee large project teams, including project engineers, field supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Manage complex mechanical systems including EPA-regulated systems, chilled water plants, air handling units, and process piping.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
- Lead project meetings, site visits, and commissioning efforts.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical construction project management.
- Proven experience with healthcare, data centers, battery plants, or other mission-critical & industrial facilities.
- Strong understanding of complex mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, and cooling infrastructure.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
- Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and teams simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel regionally as required.
