Role Summary
The Senior Service Engineer supports turbine systems-steam, gas, auxiliary equipment, and generators-by resolving field issues, analyzing performance data, and driving quality improvements. This role involves close coordination with field service teams and long-term service programs to enhance reliability and competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for inspections and operational issues across turbine systems
- Analyze field measurements and compare with manufacturing specifications
- Document service experiences and feedback for design improvement
- Prepare work instructions and recommendations for field inspections
- Participate in field outages to assess equipment conditions and support issue resolution
- Conduct peer reviews of engineering deliverables (e.g., NCRs, ESRs, reports)
- Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D RCA)
- Support quality audits and improve documentation practices
- Utilize service databases and tools for tracking and reporting
- Travel up to 30% as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering field
- 10+ years of service engineering experience in power generation
- 7+ years leading large-scale turbine or auxiliary system projects
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and compliance
- Proficiency in service support platforms (e.g., Windchill, NCR systems)
