Senior Transportation Engineer
A well‑established local Washington transportation consulting firm is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to support roadway design projects for cities and municipalities throughout the Puget Sound region. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands‑on design work, values community‑focused projects, and is interested in growing into a Project Management role.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and contribute to roadway design projects for local agencies and municipalities
- Prepare design plans, reports, and PS&E packages for urban and suburban roadways
- Apply WSDOT and local agency standards to deliver compliant, high‑quality designs
- Coordinate with planners, engineers, and agency stakeholders
- Support junior engineers through technical guidance and mentorship
- Gradually take on increased responsibility in project management, including scope, schedule, and client coordination
What They're Looking For:
- Washington PE required
- 10+ years of transportation engineering experience
- Strong background in municipal and city roadway design
- Experience delivering projects across the Puget Sound region
- Proficiency with roadway design tools and local/state standards
- Interest in project leadership and long‑term professional growth
