Job Title: Support of Excavation (SOE) Engineer
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000 annually
Bonus: Project-based completion bonuses (based on size and complexity)


About the Role

LVI is partnered with a leading engineering consultancy who is seeking a highly experienced Support of Excavation (SOE) Engineer to lead the design and implementation of excavation support systems across a range of complex urban projects. This role is focused exclusively on SOE design and execution, with a strong emphasis on structural components and adjacent building protection during construction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of SOE systems for all active projects.
  • Develop engineering solutions to support excavation in dense urban environments, particularly near existing structures.
  • Produce and issue detailed SOE designs to support construction teams.
  • Operate independently as the lead engineer, managing all aspects of SOE design and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure safe and efficient excavation practices.
  • Work full-time (approx. 10 hours/day) focused solely on SOE, with potential to expand into structural work in the future.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in SOE engineering.
  • Proven ability to independently lead and execute SOE designs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop practical engineering solutions.
  • No structural engineering background required, though familiarity is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation & Incentives

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $130,000 to $160,000, based on experience.
  • Project-based bonus structure awarded upon successful completion of eachSOE project.
    • Bonus amounts vary depending on project size and complexity.
