Survey Project Manager

A leading multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Survey Project Manager to join its growing team in Southern California. This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed survey professional to lead diverse projects, mentor staff, and contribute to the expansion of a high-performing survey practice.

The firm offers a collaborative work environment where technical expertise is valued and supported by cutting-edge tools and technologies. The Surveying team provides services across a wide geographic area, including geodetic and control surveys, boundary and right-of-way surveys, topographic and quantity surveys, construction staking, 3D scanning and modeling, and hydrographic surveys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver survey projects on time and within budget
  • Write proposals and develop project budgets and schedules
  • Lead and mentor field and office staff performing control, boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys
  • Utilize advanced geospatial tools including GPS, terrestrial laser scanning, UAVs, mobile mapping systems, and hydrographic mapping systems
  • Perform survey calculations and oversee quality control
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines and external clients
  • Support business development efforts and client relationship management
  • Contribute to pursuit planning and proposal development for new opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in California
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently and communicate effectively with clients
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and leading survey teams
  • Familiarity with state and county mapping requirements
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation Open Roads, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of geospatial principles and survey technologies
  • Experience in proposal writing and project execution
