Transmission Line Engineer
About the Position
Seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design and delivery of high-voltage transmission line projects. This role involves guiding projects from early development through construction, ensuring technical excellence and cost efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Develop and refine transmission line designs for overhead and underground systems.
- Evaluate routing options, material choices, and construction methods to optimize performance and reduce costs.
- Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, and bid packages for contractors.
- Oversee engineering deliverables and manage EPC contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Use advanced modeling tools to create accurate designs and support project estimates.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with safety codes and industry standards.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in transmission line engineering.
- Strong understanding of high-voltage systems and related design principles.
- Familiarity with industry software for line modeling (e.g., PLS-CADD or similar).
- Knowledge of applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
