One of our client is a multidisciplinary design firm seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join our collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of public and private projects, including parks and green spaces, transportation infrastructure, university campuses, and stormwater and utility systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering design for projects involving:
- Roadway and paving design
- Grading and drainage
- Stormwater management systems
- Utility layout (sanitary sewer and water)
- Site planning and erosion/sediment control
- Prepare and oversee:
- Conceptual layouts and construction documents
- Technical specifications, design calculations, and reports
- Quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and SWPPPs
- Ensure high-quality deliverables within budget and schedule constraints
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, landscape architects, and surveyors
- Mentor and review work of junior engineering staff
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and local/state agencies
- Conduct site visits and construction administration
- Attend project meetings and contribute to design and construction discussions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Landscape Architecture
- 10+ years of relevant civil engineering experience
- NYS PE license or EIT certification preferred
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation
- Stormwater modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD) preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with local permitting processes and construction methods
