About the Role
LVI Associates is supporting a global certification and assurance organisation in the search for an Aerospace Quality Auditor to support continued growth across Japan's aerospace and defence supply chain.
This role will focus on third-party certification audits, assessments, and training activities for AS9100 (JIS Q 9100), with exposure to AS9110 and AS9120 considered a strong advantage. The successful candidate will work closely with client leadership teams while representing international best practice in management system certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site certification audits and training for AS9100 (JIS Q 9100) and ISO 9001 across Japan
(AS9110 and AS9120 audit experience desirable) - Engage directly with senior management and operational teams to assess compliance and management system effectiveness
- Prepare accurate, timely, and high-quality audit reports in line with international certification expectations
- Manage technical review findings, corrective actions, and closure activities in a structured and timely manner
- Maintain and continuously develop auditor qualifications in accordance with accreditation requirements
- Act as project lead on assigned client engagements, ensuring professional execution and delivery
- Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities and collaborating with internal sales teams
- Build long-term, trusted client relationships and professionally manage any client concerns or escalations
Candidate Profile
- Currently certified AS9100 / JIS Q 9100 Lead Auditor (Aerospace Experienced Auditor - AEA)
- Proven experience within the aerospace and/or defence sector
- Additional qualifications in AS9110 and/or AS9120 highly preferred
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001; ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 are advantageous
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the aerospace quality sector
- Extensive industry experience within quality and aerospace environments, with the ability to deliver training
- Demonstrated capability to work independently and lead audit teams
- Excellent stakeholder management, client-facing, and communication skills
- Able to write clear, professional audit reports in English
- Native or fluent Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential
- Willingness to travel extensively across Japan for on-site engagements
