The Opportunity
This senior leadership role is ideal for someone passionate about geotechnical and geostructural engineering, client service, and team development. As an Associate Principal, you will shape the direction of the firm's geotechnical practice, lead high‑impact projects, and play a key role in business growth.
You will work across investigation, repair, rehabilitation, and new construction projects-partnering with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, technically rigorous solutions. This is a chance to influence strategy, mentor emerging leaders, and represent the firm within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lead complex geotechnical and geostructural projects as the primary technical authority.
Oversee scope, schedule, budget, contracting, and fee collection for major or concurrent projects.
Mentor and develop engineering and technical staff, fostering high performance and growth.
Build and maintain strong client relationships as the principal point of contact.
Uphold rigorous QA/QC standards and protect the firm's technical reputation.
Collaborate across disciplines to deliver holistic, integrated solutions.
Drive business development, marketing, and external client engagement.
Contribute to industry visibility through publications, presentations, teaching, and committee involvement.
Stay informed on emerging technologies, research, and industry trends.
Model leadership, ethics, collaboration, and accountability.
What You'll Bring
15+ years of senior‑level geotechnical or geostructural engineering experience.
MS or PhD in Geotechnical or Geostructural Engineering.
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Proven ability to generate and sustain client work.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring success.
Ability to manage high volume of work with multiple staff.
Active involvement in organisations such as AASHTO, ASCE GeoInstitute, or Deep Foundations Institute.
Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting complex technical topics.
Strong business acumen and sound judgment.
Familiarity with geotechnical analysis tools (GEOSLOPE Suite, Slide, Plaxis, LPILEplus, DeepEX, etc.).
Integrity, collaboration skills, and willingness to travel as needed.
