Bridge Inspection Group Manager
A national civil engineering firm is seeking a Structural Inspection Group Manager to lead a high-performing team based in Denver. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced professional who excels in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional infrastructure inspection services. The position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of large-scale Department of Transportation (DOT) inspection projects across multiple states, including above-water, underwater, timber, and off-system bridge inspections.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in structural engineering, a proven track record in project management, and a commitment to mentoring and developing technical staff. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical oversight, client engagement, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 15+ inspectors and project managers across multiple DOT contracts.
- Provide technical direction, quality control, and oversight for structural inspection projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and project managers, supporting their professional growth and development.
- Conduct field inspections and quality reviews, with travel required up to one week per month.
- Oversee the preparation of inspection reports using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Collaborate with business development teams to support client relationships and pursue new opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and facilitate ongoing safety training for staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive engineering experience, including project management.
- Completion of NHI/FHWA Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges courses (#130055 and/or #130056).
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Structural Engineer (S.E.) license.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
