A leading provider of quality and safety solutions is actively seeking a Building Enclosure Senior Project Manager to join its Building Enclosures team in Illinois. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the building enclosure consulting/commissioning industry.

The organisation's Building and Construction division comprises multiple brands that lead across architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines, developing innovative product and project solutions. Their project-related assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services support risk management and quality assurance for new developments, existing assets, and facilities. This group focuses primarily on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.


What Are We Looking For?

The ideal Building Enclosure Consultant / Senior Project Manager will have substantial experience with building enclosure consulting and commissioning for both new and existing buildings. Additional expectations include:

  • Leading project teams
  • Developing a client base
  • Contributing technically to the broader team
  • Supporting local team growth

Responsibilities include full project oversight, staff mentoring, client relationship building, pursuing new work, and delivering technical review of project documents. Travel up to 25% outside the local area may be required depending on project load.


Salary & Benefits

  • Salary range: $120,000 - $165,000
  • Bonus eligible (10%+)
  • Compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, and other job‑related factors.

What You'll Do

  • Provide and lead building enclosure commissioning (BECx) projects
  • Train staff in BECx processes
  • Provide enclosure consulting, commissioning, and design/construction services
  • Conduct investigations and assessments of existing buildings
  • Prepare proposals for new work
  • Support financial goals of the profit center
  • Prepare written deliverables (proposals, reports, design reviews)
  • Assist in hiring, mentoring, and training team members
  • Support business development locally and nationally
  • Participate in professional organizations, conferences, committees, and authorship
  • Perform all physical and administrative duties required for the role

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Architectural Engineering and 10+ years of building enclosure consulting experience
    OR
    10+ years of industry experience in lieu of a degree
  • Professional registration (RA or SE), or ability to obtain within one year
  • Experience in building enclosure commissioning
  • Strong technical understanding of enclosure systems and construction
  • Ability to manage a range of project sizes
  • Ability to perform office and field tasks (ladders, lifts, scaffolds, roofs, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with diverse building types and enclosure systems
  • Proficiency in modeling tools (THERM, WUFI, EnergyPlus, COMcheck, etc.)
  • Experience with enclosure testing and façade condition assessments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD/Revit/BIM/SketchUp
  • Safety training / scaffold certification
