A leading building envelope and façade consulting firm is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to join its growing South Florida team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer, architect, or building envelope professional looking to work on complex façade, waterproofing, and curtain wall projects across the commercial, residential, hospitality, and mixed-use sectors.
The successful candidate will work closely with owners, developers, architects, contractors, and property managers, providing technical expertise on the assessment, design, investigation, and rehabilitation of building envelope systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field investigations and condition assessments of building envelope systems.
- Evaluate curtain walls, glazing systems, exterior facades, waterproofing, roofing, balconies, and cladding assemblies.
- Conduct site inspections to identify construction defects, water intrusion issues, and performance deficiencies.
- Prepare technical reports detailing findings, recommendations, and repair scopes.
- Review construction documents, shop drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Support the design and implementation of façade restoration and rehabilitation projects.
- Monitor construction activities and provide construction administration services.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, developers, and ownership groups throughout project delivery.
- Assist with project management responsibilities including schedules, budgets, and client communication.
- Contribute to business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in building envelope consulting, façade engineering, curtain wall design, restoration, waterproofing, roofing, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of building envelope systems and construction practices.
- Experience conducting site inspections and preparing technical reports.
- Ability to review construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Florida experience is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- PE, RA, EIT, RRO, RRC, CDT, or similar professional credentials.
- Experience with curtain wall systems, glazing assemblies, and façade design.
- Knowledge of Florida Building Code requirements and coastal construction challenges.
- Experience supporting restoration, repair, and rehabilitation projects.
- Construction administration and field observation experience.
