CHICAGO | Professional Land Surveyor
My client, a respected civil engineering and land surveying firm, is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor or a Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) to join their growing team. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee field work for a wide range of projects, including topographic surveys, subdivision development, IDOT and Tollway infrastructure, heavy highway and bridge construction, architectural site development, and construction layout and mapping.
- Prepare detailed and accurate survey plats, topographies, and boundary surveys in accordance with industry standards.
- Train and mentor Survey Interns in modern surveying technologies such as robotics, laser scanning, GIS systems, and precision measurement techniques.
- Ensure all survey deliverables meet high standards of accuracy, regulatory compliance, and client expectations.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin (preferred) or status as a Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)
- Strong working knowledge of topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, subdivisions, easements, plats of vacation, and construction layout
- Proficient in CAD, drafting, and general computer systems including Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Passion for mentoring and developing junior team members
