Are you an experienced civil engineer passionate about shaping resilient communities through innovative drainage and stormwater solutions? We're seeking a Civil Drainage Lead to take ownership of local-area drainage systems in the Baton Rouge region, serving as the technical authority and go‑to resource for complex municipal drainage initiatives.

This is a leadership-driven opportunity for someone who thrives on solving challenging problems, guiding teams, and delivering meaningful infrastructure improvements for the region.

Responsibilities

  • Own the drainage program for a defined local area, serving as the primary point of contact and subject-matter expert for all drainage-related needs.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct Civil Engineering work across projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage design, and stormwater infrastructure planning.
  • Develop drainage reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, design documentation, and electronic deliverables; perform data analysis and support projects throughout design and construction phases.
  • Collaborate with city boards, parish meetings to ensure proactive project delivery, technical excellence, and strong client relationships.
  • Conduct and oversee field assessments, system evaluations, and drainage investigations.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including submittal reviews, and site visits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • 8-15 years of directly relevant experience in drainage engineering, stormwater design, or municipal infrastructure.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Louisiana (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe).
  • Strong background in hydrology/hydraulics, modeling, and drainage system design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, agencies, and project teams.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and serve as the authoritative resource in a technical domain.
