Civil/Site Engineer
About the Role
Our client is a well-established engineering consulting firm seeking a Civil Engineer (EIT) to join their growing Dallas team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects spanning land development, municipal infrastructure, utilities, transportation, and drainage design.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with experienced engineers, designers, and project managers to develop technical solutions, prepare engineering plans, and support project delivery from concept through construction. This role is ideal for an Engineer-in-Training looking to expand their technical expertise while progressing toward professional licensure and future project management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret surveys, plats, maps, aerial imagery, geotechnical reports, and construction documents to support project design
- Assist with the design of transportation, utility, and drainage systems, including roadways, water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and stormwater infrastructure
- Prepare civil site designs for commercial, municipal, educational, and mixed-use developments
- Develop grading plans, utility layouts, drainage studies, and supporting engineering calculations
- Produce construction documents and assist with permitting and agency approval processes
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, review agencies, and subconsultants throughout project execution
- Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and permitting packages
- Support project delivery while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal design standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 4-6 years of civil engineering design experience
- Experience working on land development, municipal, utilities, roadway, commercial, industrial, retail, or educational projects
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
- PE exam passed or actively pursuing Professional Engineer licensure
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
