Position Title: Commercial Manager and Analyst
Location: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane Australia
Position Overview:
We are seeking for a highly skilled and commercially astute Commercial Manager / Analyst to support its strategic growth in the Australian renewable energy market. This role focuses on asset acquisition and management across hydro, solar, and other large-scale renewable projects, with a strong emphasis on brownfield and greenfield opportunities.
The ideal candidate will bring deep local market experience, strong financial modelling capabilities, and a proven track record in closing deals and managing relationships with local authorities and market operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Acquisition & Deal Execution
- Identify, evaluate, and execute acquisition opportunities in the Australian renewables sector.
- Lead commercial due diligence, valuation, and financial analysis of target assets.
- Negotiate and close transactions in collaboration with legal, technical, and financial advisors.
- Financial Modelling & Analysis
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to support investment decisions.
- Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and valuation assessments.
- Provide commercial insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with local authorities, market operators (e.g., AEMO), and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with internal teams across regions to align on investment strategy and execution.
- Represent SN Energy in discussions with co-investors and external partners.
- Asset Management Support
- Monitor performance of acquired assets and support optimization strategies.
- Assist in portfolio reporting and performance tracking.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in the Australian renewable energy industry, ideally in hydro and solar.
- Strong background in financial modelling, investment analysis, and commercial strategy.
- Demonstrated success in acquiring and managing large-scale assets.
- Deep understanding of the Australian energy market, including regulatory frameworks and market dynamics.
- Experience working with local authorities and market operators.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across regional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in energy investment, asset management, or commercial roles.
- Familiarity with AEMO processes and Australian energy regulations.
