Overview
An exciting opportunity to join a growing infrastructure and investment platform to focus on identifying, evaluating, and originating hyperscale and large-scale data center opportunities across Asia. This position will play a key commercial role in driving early-stage market development, investment assessment, and strategic partnership engagement before projects enter detailed development or construction phases.
Key Responsibilities
Market Assessment & Strategy
- Conduct in-depth analysis of target markets, including macroeconomic trends, power infrastructure, energy availability, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability initiatives.
- Evaluate market attractiveness and support country prioritization strategies.
- Develop investment theses, business cases, and project screening criteria to assess potential opportunities.
- Provide data-driven insights to support expansion and investment decisions.
Business Development & Origination
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with key market participants, including:
- Developers
- Infrastructure and energy investors
- Independent Power Producers (IPPs)
- EPC contractors
- Advisory and consulting firms
- Financial institutions and investment partners
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of potential development and investment opportunities.
- Establish strategic partnerships to support market entry and project origination activities.
Transaction & Project Support
- Support investment, acquisition, partnership, and development activities throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including commercial, technical, legal, financial, and development teams.
- Assist in due diligence, opportunity evaluation, and transaction execution processes.
- Facilitate collaboration between regional and local teams to achieve business growth objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy, Infrastructure, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, project origination, project acquisition, investment analysis, infrastructure development, consulting, or M&A activities.
- Experience within digital infrastructure, energy, renewable energy, data centers, utilities, power, or adjacent sectors is advantageous.
- Strong market research and analytical capabilities, including financial and commercial evaluation of opportunities.
- Ability to build business cases and market-entry strategies across multiple countries.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Comfortable working across multiple cultures, markets, and time zones.
- Willingness to travel regionally as required.
Preferred Background
- Experience supporting infrastructure, energy, renewable energy, digital infrastructure, or large-scale development projects.
- Exposure to investment evaluation, project origination, partnerships, acquisitions, or market expansion initiatives.
- Understanding of power markets, energy infrastructure, or data center ecosystems would be highly advantageous.
