Electrical Engineer - HYBRID
The Electrical Engineer contributes to various MEP-related engineering assignments using established design principles. This role supports small-scale projects or components of larger efforts and emphasizes continued growth within the discipline through collaboration with senior engineering staff. The engineer plays a key role in ensuring that deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and according to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Begins taking ownership of project designs under the supervision of a licensed engineer and within individual expertise
Develops design strategies and concepts with oversight and direction from senior engineers
Conducts engineering analyses and studies using specialized industry tools
Manages the development of technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and clarity
Reviews work completed by team members and provides constructive feedback
Participates in client, stakeholder, and design coordination meetings as required
Works with local agencies, utility providers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance
Contributes to labor budget planning and manages task execution within allocated hours
Collaborates on scheduling and ensures discipline-specific tasks are aligned with timelines
Performs electrical system calculations and selects equipment based on project parameters
Coordinates equipment layout and space planning with other engineering disciplines and design teams
Participates in internal kickoff meetings and ongoing design discussions
Reviews technical work for completeness and accuracy before final QA/QC
Responds to inquiries from contractors and suppliers during construction and procurement
Conducts on-site construction visits to monitor implementation and compliance with plans
Reviews submittals and shop drawings to verify conformance with project specifications
Maintains organized records of communication with project stakeholders
Supports the development and mentoring of junior engineers and design staff
Stays current with advancements and changes in the industry through ongoing learning
May assist the project management team with selected administrative or coordination tasks
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited program
Minimum of four years of relevant design experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
Proficiency in Revit software is essential
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and design methodologies
