A nationally recognized multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join its Philadelphia team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of complex projects while collaborating with architects, engineers, and code officials to develop innovative life safety and fire protection solutions.
The ideal candidate will have experience in fire protection system design, life safety analysis, and code consulting, along with a strong understanding of building and fire codes.
🔹 What You'll Do * Develop code studies and life safety plans for complex building projects
* Design and coordinate fire suppression and fire alarm systems
* Conduct code reviews and provide interpretations of applicable regulations
* Evaluate site water supplies for fire protection system design
* Support egress planning, occupancy analysis, and life safety strategies
* Review sprinkler and fire alarm shop drawings
* Coordinate fire protection systems with architectural and engineering teams
* Participate in meetings with clients, code officials, and project stakeholders
* Assist with fire modeling, smoke analysis, and egress simulations
* Travel as needed to support project requirements
🔹 What They're Looking For * Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
* Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in multiple states
* Experience designing and analyzing fire protection and life safety systems
* Strong understanding of ICC and NFPA codes and standards
* Experience with fire suppression, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems
* Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
* Strong communication, project coordination, and problem-solving skills
⭐ Preferred Experience * 5-10 years of fire protection engineering experience
* Computational fire modeling and egress analysis (FDS, PyroSim, Pathfinder)
* Smoke control system design
* Structural fire analysis
* Advanced code consulting and performance-based design experience
