Position Overview

They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Geotechnical Branch Manager to lead their Nashville, TN office. This leadership role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong technical background in geotechnical engineering and/or CMT, proven business development skills, and a passion for team leadership and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management

    • Oversee daily operations of the Nashville branch, including geotechnical engineering, field services, and laboratory testing.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Technical Oversight

    • Provide technical guidance and review for geotechnical investigations, foundation design, slope stability, and related services.
    • Support project execution from proposal through delivery, ensuring technical accuracy and client satisfaction.
  • Business Development

    • Cultivate and maintain client relationships with developers, contractors, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Nashville and surrounding markets.
    • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and local professional organizations.
  • Financial & Strategic Planning

    • Manage branch budget, forecasting, and profitability.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to align branch goals with company-wide strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering and/or CMT.
  • Proven leadership experience in a consulting or engineering firm.
  • Strong business development acumen and client relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management abilities.
