About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Boston, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting geotechnical investigations, analyzing soil and rock properties, and providing engineering recommendations for a variety of infrastructure and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
- Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater data to assess site conditions and risks.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, foundation recommendations, and slope stability analyses.
- Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
- Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing submittals and performing field inspections.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Utilize geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, gINT) for modeling and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 2-5+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation design, and geotechnical instrumentation.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and CAD tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
