Position Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and financial performance of mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will work closely with field operations, clients, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

This role offers the opportunity to manage large-scale, technically challenging projects while playing a key role in client relationships and business success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of mechanical construction projects from kickoff through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and manpower plans.
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, procurement, and cash flow.
  • Review and negotiate change orders, contracts, and project scope modifications.
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel to ensure successful execution.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain communication with owners, general contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment procurement activities.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively solving issues that impact schedule or budget.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and company standards.
  • Oversee project documentation, reporting, and closeout processes.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that support future business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within mechanical construction.
  • Strong background managing HVAC, plumbing, piping, or process mechanical projects.
  • Experience overseeing commercial, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost controls, procurement, and project financials.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and construction software platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, BIM 360, or similar systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience leading projects valued at $5M+.
  • Knowledge of BIM/VDC coordination and prefabrication processes.
  • Experience working on large, complex mechanical construction projects.
  • Proven ability to build and lead successful project teams.
