The Opportunity
As the Mid-Atlantic Water Resources Practice Director, you will serve as the strategic growth leader for the region, responsible for developing client relationships, securing new projects, growing revenue, and building a high-performing team.
The ideal candidate already has established relationships with municipal clients, counties, state agencies, transportation agencies, utilities, watershed organizations, developers, and industry partners throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
You will have the opportunity to build upon an existing platform while helping shape the firm's long-term water resources strategy throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the regional growth strategy for water resources services
- Expand relationships with municipalities, counties, transportation agencies, utilities, and private-sector clients
- Lead business development and capture efforts across the Mid-Atlantic
- Position for and win stormwater, drainage, resilience, watershed, flood mitigation, and water resources projects
- Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients and stakeholders
- Recruit, mentor, and develop technical and project management staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the organization
- Strengthen the firm's visibility and presence throughout the marketplace
- Provide project oversight and executive-level client management
- Drive sustainable revenue growth and market expansion
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- PE license required
- 20+ years of water resources, stormwater, drainage, resilience, or related civil engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience winning and managing significant projects
- Existing network and strong client relationships throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia
- Proven seller-doer experience with measurable business development success
- Experience leading teams, mentoring professionals, and growing practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
