Onshore Wind Head of Construction
Position Summary:
The Head of Engineering will oversee all technical aspects of renewable energy development projects in Japan. This role is responsible for ensuring engineering activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with approved objectives, budgets, and timelines. It includes leading the engineering team, strategic planning, reporting, resource allocation, and engagement with key industry and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead the engineering function in Japan, ensuring projects meet health, safety, environmental, budget, schedule, and quality targets.
- Establish and maintain relationships with critical industry stakeholders (government bodies, utilities, certification agencies, turbine OEMs, EPC contractors, consultants, and advisors).
- Collaborate closely with the development team to optimize project value in terms of cost, schedule, quality, and risk mitigation.
- Manage changes in project scope, resolve technical issues, and develop contingency plans.
- Mentor and supervise engineering team members and contractors, fostering accountability and positive outcomes.
- Conduct site visits and stakeholder meetings to support project development, construction, and operations.
- Provide technical support to business development efforts.
- Oversee EPC contractor scope, ensuring projects are delivered on time and comply with technical, commercial, safety, and regulatory requirements, meeting or exceeding performance and O&M targets.
