MEP Superintendent - Data Center Construction
Buffalo, NY (Travel Role - Up to 75%)
$140,000 - $170,000 + Benefits
We are partnered with one of the leading data center Owner's Representative firms in the US, who are continuing to expand their nationwide portfolio of mission‑critical projects. Due to sustained growth, they are looking to add an experienced MEP Superintendent to their high‑performing MEP construction team.
This is a travelling position, with up to 75% of time spent on live data center projects, and the remaining time working remotely.
The Role
As an MEP Superintendent, you will act as the Owner's Rep on large‑scale, hyperscale and colocation data center projects, overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes on site. You will work closely with general contractors, trade partners, commissioning agents, and the wider owner's project team to ensure safe, high‑quality, and on‑schedule delivery of complex MEP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on‑site oversight of MEP construction activities on data center projects
- Monitor contractor performance against schedule, quality, and safety requirements
- Coordinate MEP trade partners, commissioning teams, and construction management teams
- Lead field inspections, site walks, and issue resolution for MEP systems
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and industry best practices
- Support commissioning, testing, and turnover of critical infrastructure
- Produce clear site reports and communicate progress to owner and project leadership
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience as an MEP Superintendent, MEP Manager, or Electrical / Mechanical Superintendent
- Proven data center construction experience (hyperscale, colocation, or mission‑critical facilities)
- Deep understanding of critical electrical and mechanical systems
- Comfortable working in a travelling role across multiple job sites
- Ability to represent the owner confidently on site and drive contractor accountability
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
