About the Opportunity
A leading water engineering consultancy is seeking a seasoned Principal Water Reuse Engineer to drive the planning, design, and delivery of advanced treatment and water reuse projects across San Diego and the broader Southern California region.
This is a high‑visibility role supporting some of the most ambitious potable reuse and purification programs in the state. The ideal candidate is a recognized technical expert who enjoys leading complex projects, mentoring teams, and working closely with municipal water agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, design, and implementation of potable reuse, non‑potable reuse, and advanced water treatment systems.
- Serve as a technical authority on membrane treatment, RO, UV/AOP, biological treatment, and advanced purification.
- Provide QA/QC for major engineering deliverables.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with San Diego‑area agencies (e.g., water districts, public utilities).
- Support or lead project delivery, proposals, and business development efforts.
- Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and support team development.
- Contribute to strategic planning and innovation in the regional water reuse market.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering with a focus on water reuse or advanced treatment.
- Technical experience with MF/UF, RO, UV/AOP, or similar advanced treatment processes.
- Proven success managing multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage directly with municipal clients.
- California PE or ability to obtain within 6 months.
