Specialising in Design & Construct (D&C) projects, we serve municipal, industrial, and commercial clients across the country. Our team is expanding, and we are seeking a highly capable Process Engineering Manager to lead our process design function.
Position Summary
The Process Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the process engineering team and overseeing the technical design and development of water and wastewater treatment systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with team leadership and project delivery oversight, ensuring that all process designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of process engineers, providing technical direction, mentoring, and performance management.
- Oversee the development of process designs for water and wastewater treatment plants, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, and process simulations.
- Ensure all designs comply with client specifications, Australian standards, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and civil teams to ensure integrated and constructible solutions.
- Support tendering and proposal development with process design input, including technical write-ups and design calculations.
- Review and approve process documentation, reports, and commissioning plans.
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in treatment technologies and design methodologies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Process Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment process design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of biological, chemical, and physical treatment processes.
- Proven experience in D&C project environments, including design, commissioning, and operational support.
- Familiarity with process modelling tools (e.g., BioWin, GPS-X) and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Project).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or eligibility is highly desirable.
