An established Dallas‑based Geotechnical Engineering consulting firm is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join its growing team. This role is ideal for a geotechnical engineer who can operate immediately in a Staff Engineer / Project Engineer capacity while developing toward a Senior Project Manager and future Department Lead role.

This position has been created as part of a long‑term growth and succession plan, offering a clear pathway into senior leadership for the right individual.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee geotechnical investigations, analysis, and reporting
  • Manage field exploration programs including drilling, sampling, and laboratory testing
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports, recommendations, and design parameters
  • Review and seal geotechnical reports in accordance with state licensure requirements
  • Support project management efforts including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination
  • Interface directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
  • Assist with proposal preparation and project scoping as responsibilities grow

  • Short Term: Staff / Project Engineer with increasing project ownership

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in geotechnical consulting, including subsurface investigations and reporting
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a consulting environment
  • Interest in long‑term career growth and leadership development
