Our client is a well‑established general contractor specializing in civil construction, including asphalt and concrete paving, excavation, earthwork, grading, and drainage infrastructure. They deliver high‑quality medium‑ to large‑scale projects across both public and private sectors and are experiencing steady growth in their civil/heavy highway division.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee civil construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in heavy highway work, hands‑on estimating experience, and preferably proficiency with HeavyBid. Projects typically range from $3M-$10M.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates and bid proposals, ideally using HeavyBid
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources throughout the full lifecycle
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and field leadership
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Conduct site assessments to support accurate estimating
- Monitor progress to ensure safety, quality, and compliance
- Identify and manage risks, change orders, and project challenges
- Maintain thorough project documentation and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of heavy highway/roadway, civil construction project management and estimating experience
- Experience with HeavyBid and modern construction management software
- Strong understanding of DOT standards, specifications, and permitting processes
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel to job sites as needed
