Project Manager - Commercial Construction - Tyler, TX
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial renovation and interior construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role will focus on managing occupied-space renovations, adaptive reuse, and tenant improvement projects across a diverse commercial portfolio. The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage renovation and interior construction projects from planning through completion
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment
- Lead subcontractor buyout, contract negotiation, and procurement of materials
- Oversee construction activities in active or occupied environments with minimal disruption
- Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular site visits and collaborate closely with field teams
- Deliver consistent project updates to clients and internal leadership

Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience with a general contractor
- Proven experience managing commercial renovation or TI projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and building systems
- Experience working in occupied environments and phased construction
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling software
