Project Surveyor
A respected local engineering and surveying consultant in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Project Surveyor / Survey Manager to support and oversee complex surveying efforts tied to major infrastructure and development projects. This role is primarily office‑based and ideal for someone who enjoys managing projects, supporting construction teams, and producing high‑quality survey deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage survey efforts for heavy construction projects including highways, bridges, and large vertical developments
- Prepare and review survey deliverables such as exhibits, plats, alignments, and construction staking plans
- Perform survey drafting and data processing using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Coordinate closely with engineers, construction teams, and field survey staff
- Review field data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure QA/QC standards are met
- Support project scheduling, scopes, and technical execution across multiple projects
Qualifications:
- LSIT required
- 5+ years of progressive survey experience, ideally in heavy civil and transportation projects
- Strong background supporting construction projects (DOT, highway, bridge, or large-scale vertical)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (drafting and surface/alignments work)
- Solid understanding of survey computations, control, and construction workflows
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with design and construction teams
