Party Chief
A well‑established land surveying and engineering firm is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to join their team in Telluride, Colorado. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technical fieldwork, leadership in the field, and working on diverse projects in a scenic mountain environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and manage a survey crew on a variety of projects including boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, right‑of‑way, and construction staking
- Perform field data collection using GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
- Review survey plans and ensure fieldwork complies with project requirements and standards
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and office staff to maintain schedules and quality
- Mentor and train junior field staff
- Ensure safe work practices and proper care of equipment
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of land survey experience with time in a Survey Party Chief or lead role
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, procedures, and field calculations
- Proficiency with GPS and robotic total station equipment
- Experience with boundary and construction surveys
- Ability to work independently and lead crews effectively
- Valid driver's license; CST certification is a plus
