Regional Water/Wastewater Leader

Lead a Mature Water/Wastewater Practice in a Progressive, Collaborative Environment
We are conducting a confidential search on behalf of a Top ENR-ranked engineering firm for a Technical Manager to lead a well-established water and wastewater section in the Baltimore metro area. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a mature practice, drive strategic growth, and play a key role in expanding services regionally and nationally.
This leadership role offers excellent potential for career advancement, including developing and leading the water/wastewater engineering practice in the region while supporting national growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee project delivery, staff development, and quality control processes
- Drive business development planning and execution
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, government agencies, and internal teams
- Manage financial performance and resource allocation for the section
- Lead proposal development and client interviews
- Mentor and grow a high-performing team
- Hire and develop staff, conduct performance reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Maryland or ability to obtain via reciprocity
- 20+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering
- Proven experience in project management and business development
- Strong leadership and client relationship skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Baltimore-area municipal and county clients
- Supervisory experience in a consulting business or unit
- Active industry involvement
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary: $190K-$240K annually, based on experience
