Remote - Renewables Civil Project Engineer III

A highly reputable firm is looking to grow their Renewable team with a remote Civil Project Engineer III. With over 100+ years in business, this company has an extensive client list and provide design-build expertise and turnkey EPC capabilities across North America! They work on Utility Scale PV & BESS projects, with 8+GWH under contract & construction and 5.5+GWH completed to date!
Responsibilities:
Preconstruction & Estimating Support: Deliver early-stage civil designs, buildable area plans, grading, and erosion control layouts to support cost estimation and feasibility analysis.
Technical Review & Site Analysis: Analyze entitlement documents, surveys, and technical reports to create site constraint maps and identify design limitations or risks.
Design Development & Construction Documentation: Lead preparation of civil construction drawings through all design phases (30% to as-built), respond to RFIs, and support construction administration.
Project Leadership & Coordination: Act as CEOR where applicable, lead project calls, coordinate with operations teams, and ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and budget.
Mentorship & Team Oversight: Delegate tasks to junior engineers, oversee their work, provide mentorship, and support professional development within the team.
Process Improvement & Standards Development: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, maintain department standards, and drive efficiency in design and documentation processes.
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related
- Skilled in site engineering, grading, drainage, erosion control, and stormwater design using Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and GIS tools; strong understanding of hydrology/hydraulics and local permitting processes.
- Self-motivated team player with strong multitasking abilities, professional demeanor, and a commitment to mentoring and collaboration across all project levels
- PE License
- 4+ years renewable project experience
