Energy Sales Consultant - Independent Energy Consultancy

Location: Remote (Preferred hubs: TX, OH, PA)
Travel: 25-50%
Compensation: $85,000-$110,000 base + commission

A rapidly growing independent energy consultancy is expanding its team to bring on a high-performing sales professional. The company specializes in strategic energy procurement and works with medium-to-large commercial and industrial clients across deregulated markets. With a strong reputation for professionalism and differentiated service, they are looking for a true hunter to help drive new business.

Role Overview:

This is a full-cycle business development role focused on acquiring new customers in deregulated energy markets. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong understanding of retail energy, energy management, and financial strategy. You'll be responsible for prospecting, outreach, closing, and ongoing client management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and acquire new C&I customers through LinkedIn outreach, cold calling, and emailing
  • Develop tailored energy procurement strategies for medium to large-load clients (2,000+ MWh annually)
  • Build and manage relationships with decision-makers in industrial, manufacturing, and data center sectors
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver customized solutions in gas and power procurement
  • Maintain a professional, consultative approach to sales and client engagement

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 3-5 years of experience in energy brokerage, retail energy, or energy management
  • Proven success in new business development and customer-facing roles
  • Strong understanding of deregulated markets and energy procurement strategies
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a hunger to grow and succeed
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to understand and respond to client needs
  • Experience with medium to large C&I customers (5,000-10,000+ MWh annual load)
