About the Opportunity

A global leader in engineered environmental and industrial solutions is seeking an experienced District Sales Manager to drive growth across a defined territory. This organization delivers advanced systems and services supporting air, water, and material handling applications across power generation and heavy industry.

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on developing strategic sales plans, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding market presence across key industrial sectors.


Role Overview

The District Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing regional sales strategies, driving revenue growth, and leading a team of sales professionals. This individual will combine technical expertise with strong commercial acumen to identify opportunities and deliver solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with regional and corporate objectives
  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of sales professionals within the territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, engineering firms, contractors, and partners
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across power and industrial markets
  • Develop annual business plans, including forecasting and growth strategies
  • Drive sales of capital equipment, aftermarket parts, and service solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, marketing, and operations
  • Provide technical sales support and deliver presentations to customers
  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis
  • Ensure strong customer satisfaction and long-term account development
  • Travel extensively for customer meetings, plant visits, and industry engagement (70%+ travel expected)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or related)
  • Extensive experience in technical sales within power generation, heavy industry, or environmental sectors
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing sales teams
  • Proven track record of growing revenue and expanding market share
  • Strong business development experience, including entering new markets
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into customer-focused solutions
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with air pollution control, water/wastewater treatment, or material handling systems
  • Background working with utilities, mining, cement, steel, chemicals, or similar industries
  • Experience selling engineered systems or capital equipment
  • Familiarity with regulatory-driven solutions (e.g., environmental compliance)
