Senior Design Engineer

A leading environmental consulting firm with a national presence is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join its Industrial Water Practice. This position supports the organization's mission of delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions in water and wastewater infrastructure for industrial and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities
Lead design efforts for industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Manage and execute engineering work on small to medium-sized projects.
Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality assurance.
Provide technical leadership, coordinating and executing engineering assignments independently.
Innovate or improve processes, equipment, or materials through advanced technical problem-solving.
Support business development efforts through proposal writing, interviews, and contract discussions.
Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and support ongoing project success.
Coordinate with subconsultants and project stakeholders.
Represent the company in professional associations and industry events at various levels.
Occasional travel as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
10-15 years of experience in water/wastewater system design, with an emphasis on treatment processes and infrastructure.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain licensure upon hire.
Demonstrated success in managing design projects, including budget, scheduling, and technical deliverables.
Strong background in preliminary and detailed design for treatment plants and conveyance systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to clients and stakeholders.
Proven ability to deliver projects within scope, on time, and on budget.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
Experience with water reuse systems, reclaimed water distribution, and wastewater collection networks.
